The Oradell Public School District is a community public school district that serves students in Kindergarten through sixth grade from Oradell, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The Oradell Public School District consists of one school, Oradell Public School.
Oradell and neighboring River Edge share a combined school district for 7th through 12th grades, River Dell Regional School District which was established in 1958. Students attend River Dell Regional Middle School in River Edge and River Dell Regional High School in Oradell.[3]
As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 794 students and 46.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.3.[1] The average class size was 20.9, while the state average was 18.9.[4]The administration costs were 11.9% above average while the support services costs were 1.1% below average and classroom instruction costs were 17.2% below average. The high administrative costs coupled with the low support services and classroom instruction costs makes this district a prime candidate to regionalize. [5]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[6]
